About me

I am a third-generation musician, deeply rooted in a lineage of musical talent. My journey began at the early age of three, when I embarked on my musical education under the guidance of my father, learning the organ and piano. As a teenager, I pursued my passion for classical piano at the prestigious Ponce de León academy in Chiapas, México, where I dedicated four years to honing my skills.

However, my musical inclination gravitated towards popular music, prompting me to embark on a new path. I delved into the realms of jazz and Latin jazz, seeking guidance from accomplished piano teachers, and enrolling in courses at the renowned Fermata Jazz School in Mexico City, associated with the esteemed Berklee College. And Berklee College in Boston, Ma. These experiences opened doors for me, and I spent several years playing with various pop bands in the vibrant music scene of Mexico City.

In ’92, fueled by my entrepreneurial spirit and the support of my family, I established a club that has become an integral part of the music scene in Saint Cristobal de las Casas, Mexico. The Latinos Club, as it is called, continues to thrive under my guidance. For nearly two decades, I graced its stage, performing as both a pianist and vocalist several nights a week. Alongside these regular gigs, I ventured beyond the club’s walls, captivating audiences at events and Jazz Festivals, showcasing my skills as a solo artist or performing with trios and orchestras.

As my reputation grew, I embarked on a musical journey that took me to various corners of Mexico, the United States, and Europe. I have had the privilege of performing at esteemed venues such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City and participating in Jazz Festivals in Mazunte, Puebla, Mexico City, and Barcelona, Spain, among others. My talent has been showcased on national and local TV in Mexico, and my music has received airplay on radio stations in both the United States and Mexico.

In addition to my extensive performance career, I have also shared my knowledge and passion for music through teaching. I served as a piano teacher at the University of Las Americas in Puebla and have provided private piano lessons to eager students.

To further expand my musical horizons, I delved into Latin percussion, training under the tutelage of master Roberto Vizcaino from Cuba. As a percussionist, I have had the privilege of performing in both Mexico and the United States. Moreover, I have had the opportunity to share my expertise with American drummers, imparting the nuances of Latin rhythms in recent years.

I am also known for my skills in the audio mixing and recording, since I am passionate about gear and frequencies, I have mixed audio for an extended variaty of live shows, and recorded in studio countless times, my own music and other musicians projects.

Throughout my artistic journey, I have poured my heart and soul into composing and crafting songs. I take immense pride in having recorded keyboard, piano and percussion in dozens of different projects, each bearing the imprint of my creative vision.

My journey as a musician has encompassed a rich tapestry of experiences, spanning classical training, jazz exploration, entrepreneurial ventures, teaching endeavors, and a vast array of performances. I am excited to continue my artistic journey, exploring new avenues of musical expression and touching the hearts of audiences worldwide.
